Paul M. Kenney: A Great American Quitter!

Tuesday November 2, 2004
In preparation for the Great American Smokeout which takes place this year on November 18th, the American Cancer Society invites you to meet The Great American Quitters. These seven people have been chosen by the ACS to share their experiences via online diaries as they go through the process of kicking the habit.

Meet Paul Kenney, one of the seven quitters highlighted by the ACS. Paul is a NYC firefighter who has smoked off and on for 15 years. Post 9/11, Paul has suffered from respiratory problems and is ready to kick cigarettes out of his life permanently. His sister Maryanna, one of his biggest supporters, quit smoking 4 months ago and is a member of our Smoking Cessation Forum here at About.com.

Please join Paul's team today. When you sign up(free), you'll receive an orange "Livefree.Smokefree" wrist band as a symbol of your support. You'll be able to follow Paul's journey through his online diary and send him notes to cheer him on. Support is a key ingredient for success with smoking cessation, and your encouragement will make a big difference. Let's help Paul and the other six Great American Quitters break free of this awful addiction!
