Wednesday April 4, 2007
I want to quit smoking - I know I should quit, but do I feel I must quit? I love smoking! I'll be miserable without my cigarettes. They’ve become a part of me, and I almost can’t bear the thought of giving them up...yet I know I have to...Sound familiar? Does your mind bounce back and forth about quitting smoking? Do you think you should quit and yet find it impossible to go more than a few days or weeks before you’re smoking again? Does nicotine addiction make you feel weak? Powerless? Do you wonder if you'll ever succeed at cessation?
You’re not alone.

It is difficult for me to jot down how I quit smoking or to dictate the methods to quit smoking. I would say it was a miracle and it worked for me just like that. But since it does not make sense to you, I should rather explain how to achieve it. Well in nutshell, I don’t have any words to describe it as it needs to be only experienced. In order to quit one need to change the present state of mind completely. To achieve it sometimes ban on smoking, or deliberate attempts to avoid smoking should be continuously and dedicatedly followed. Put yourself in the prison of your willpower. Don’t set long dates such as quit forever. It should be some days or even months. Don’t put yourself in a psychological burden of not smoking for entire life.
Always start with one day.
Take a regular log of your non-smoking life. It could even be hours or some days .
Be stubborn to tell yourself, I will not smoke.
Hey bud, don’t think of hanging out with some good old buddies.
Don’t even think of drinking.
It will be a bit problematic such as sneezing, cold feeling but one should understand that this state is just temporary and will soon dissipate from your shining life.
Always put the money in the things you like such as buying nice cotton T-shirt, don’t be miser and don’t save.
