One Year Smoke-Free!

Saturday October 27, 2007

"I don't smoke anymore. Period."

From Ronda:
"I quit smoking on October 23, 2006, but I became a person who doesn’t smoke on November 16. I made that decision because I was tired of being miserable.

"I pulled into a gas station to buy “them”. I cried and I cried, and then I cried some more. It was buy “them” and smoke the rest of my life or don’t buy “them” and move on with things. I could not live my life wanting or thinking I had to have a cigarette every minute of every day. That was when I decided to be a person who doesn’t smoke.

"It no longer mattered what kind of time frame to expect. Quitting was something I was doing for life. I was done “trying”. Now was the “living” and “doing” part. From that point on it was easy for me not to smoke, and I have been steadfast in that decision."

Stay smoke free Terry! Maybe one or two smokers will read this, and it’ll give them the idea and/or incentive to do the same.
