Hooking Young Smokers With Menthol

In a press release this week from the Harvard School of Public Health, researchers confirmed that tobacco companies have added the flavor of mint (menthol) to ease new smokers into a life of addiction for decades. Knowing that the flavor of tobacco is not typically pleasant for new smokers - especially young smokers, cigarette manufacturers have put a lot of effort into creating starter products with our kids in mind. Mild menthol cigarettes target new smokers, while a stronger menthol flavor appeals to older smokers.
