Years of smoking ingrain associations in our  brains that take time to remove/reprogram.  The majority of it is cleared during the first year of smoking cessation, but wisps of our old ways of coping can pop up now and again years down the road.

Recovery from Nicotine Addiction:  Then vs. Now

Dana's story is a great example of how the occasional trigger to smoke be an opportunity to reflect on just how much better life is without cigarettes.  At three years smoke-free, Dana has her feet solidly on non-smoking ground and  plenty of insight to offer about the value of smoking cessation.

Thanks for sharing your story Dana, and congratulations on your freedom (and that yellow belt!).
