Why You Should Quit Smoking TODAY

By February 4, 2013

Follow me on:

We all know that smoking is dangerous and that it leads to numerous horrific diseases. As smokers, we work to keep this information partitioned off in a place in our minds where we don't have to think about it too much.

When we do come face-to-face with the reality of where smoking is leading us, we rationalize by telling ourselves that cancer doesn't run in the family or Aunt Belle smoked until she was 90 with no problems...or that we have time before the hazardous effects of smoking will catch up with us.

In this article from DrRich, About.com's Guide to Heart Disease, he tells us in no uncertain terms why quitting TODAY is important and why it could mean the difference between life and death. Literally.

If you're still smoking, don't lull yourself into complacency by telling yourself you have time to quit. There is no guarantee that you do or don't, but one thing is for sure - the sooner you stop poisoning your body with the thousands of toxins in cigarettes, the better off you'll be.

Use the tools here at About.com Smoking Cessation and get started TODAY. Your precious and irreplaceable life depends on it.
