I haven't been able to use my computer for a few days due to some nasty virus. I came home from work tonight and Voila! Dear hubby fixed it...just in time for me to say...

THANK YOU MY FORUM FAMILY for 1 beautiful year. It's been close at times, but the "Cherished" 7% Club Membership is mine.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh it feels so good. I'm not kidding!!!

I had a few speeches written up for this big day, but everyone else keeps using them. LOL

Really, I started smoking over 44 years ago. I tried really hard to get into that club and the rest of you all know. Smelling bad, taste goes to dull, fingernails are yellowed, burn holes in clothes, car, even a kid or two, dropping ashes everywhere - once in awhile even in food when I cooked. Respiratory infections, missed work days, etc., etc., etc. Finally, after all the "fun" stuff, I stopped breathing...several times before I got into another club...one year ago today...

One year ago today was the day the war started in Iraq. It was a gray bleak scary day and I thought about what the men and boys of our nation were giving up for me. I decided that the least I could do was to enjoy the freedom they were paying for with their lives. I opened a box of Nicorette lozenges that I had bought weeks before and had decided to return. It was a fluke. I stuck one in my mouth and PRAYED! It worked great, and then boom! Several weeks later I felt the bottom fall out. I reached out to this forum and so many ANGELS appeared out of the woodwork. All of you...EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU...is responsible for my still being here smoke free. I wish I could thank each one of you individually. Just please know that you are in my prayers from the old timers to the newbies. You all keep me going.

The brave men in Iraq are still maintaining freedom. Now I'm enjoying the freedom they've provided.

God It's Great To Be Free!

One year ago today I became a grownup...finally. I stopped making excuses about why I couldn't quit. No one could have been more scared than me. I was the weakest, whiniest baby to walk onto this site...at least I felt that way. I started learning a new way of life. I learned that knowledge is power and I became powerful. Still we are only as strong as our weakest link and when my close friends fell, I was shaken badly. Then the smartest people who live in my computer started telling me that I was only responsible for my own quit. It worked! It sunk in! I'm not putting my life on the line for a smoke anymore. I'm not puffing my heart out...literally. I'm not buying the lies.

One year ago today, I was a newbie and now...WOW! Just look at me now. ONE YEAR SMOBER feels GREAT!!! And look at you...angels every one of you...sprouting wings and granting wishes...my special family.

BIG HUGS, Theresa(uraqt66)
