Lorilu Reaches 18 Months Smoke Free

LoriLu

One year, seven months, three days, 12 hours, 45 minutes and 20 seconds saving $2,322.27, cigarettes not not smoked 11,610 life saved five weeks, five days, 7 hours and 30 minutes!

I went to the dentist today. There I was sitting in the chair, waiting for the dentist to come in, staring out the window and thinking... Actually, I was thinking about Possum ...I had open toe shoes on and I was staring at my feet. I actually laughed out loud when I remembered - so long ago - posting something about not having purple feet anymore as a result of not smoking (you can read it at Post 14592.1 if you like). I am going to go read it all after I type this for nostalgia's sake. This is when Possum and I became really close friends. It is so funny when I think about it.

One of the very first physical signs of being smoke free other than the smell of my hair was the color of my feet! So there I was today, staring at my toes and laughing because I remembered that thread from so long ago. I also remember when my gf Nella came to visit me and we purposefully took pictures of our "pretty feet" as proof of how great our health is now that we don't smoke. You're probably wondering why I am babbling on about all of this...

To any newbie here: HI! Sorry if I can't be on here enough to get to know everyone. That is another funny thought. I use to LIVE on this forum! Yet another sign I am becoming an old smober soul. Guess I just wanted to post this milestone because, due to Hurricane Katrina, I kinda got gyped out of my one year milestone speech. Oh how I looked forward to posting that milestone and couldn't.

I do remember how much these posts helped me in the beginning of my quit. So hopefully this one will encourage some of you. So many problems/circumstances, etc. happened in this last year and a half that would have easily made me want to go back to my old habit. Believe me when I say there were days when it wasn't easy at all. But today, sitting there, knowing I am healthier just by looking at my stupid pink feet - I felt happy. I have to admit, as nail biting, hair pulling and hard as heck quitting has been and still can be sometimes (hardly EVER though) I am so happy I quit smoking. I am so happy that monkey is off my back forever.

I could name so many people right now who I think are totally kick ash, awesome people who has quit smoking for even one hour KICKS ASH!

I do want to leave any newbie with this thought:
It may seem like you are on a long endless road going no where fast, but one day you are going to realize how free you really are. Just like I had a reminder today. It was a sweet, sweet reminder and a testament to how very blessed we all are to kick this demon to the ground and once and for all have complete and total...

VICTORY!
