My forum family is one of the most important parts of my life. You are all the best people in the world. You understand more because you have been or are going where I am. We walk the same walk...talk the same talk. I love you so much and for this reason, my two year speech will be shorter than my one year :)

So come, sit down and relax and let me tell you a story...

Once upon a time there was a little girl who thought watching her father and mother and older brothers and sisters smoke was just fun and the coolest thing to do. She wanted to be just like them, so at a very young age, she started smoking too. (Do you know that the ONLY reason anyone starts smoking is because they see someone else smoking?)

Well, things were pretty sneaky at first and then the urges came so often that the girl decided she would smoke in public...anywhere, anytime, anyplace. (Do you know that second hand smoke kills too?)

Forty-three years later, after letting those smelly cigarettes rule most of her life, and almost take her life, she decided enough was enough!!! Bonzai!!! The time to quit smoking was here. She thought she might die doing that but she didn't want to die a smoker. (Do you know that smoking is the #1 PREVENTABLE killer in the world?)

Everyone around her told her she was dreaming...that she could never do this. She accidentally fell upon a site where there was laughter, compassion, empathy, tough love and LOTS of people with great advice. (Do you know that About.com Smoking Cessation is THE BEST smoking cessation site on the whole net?)

She kicked ash and became a member of a Club called the 7% Club. (Do you know these are the most ELITE clubs on the whole internet?)

Now she is living happily ever after...but this is not the end...just the beginning. Today she has come full circle for the second time. Another wonderful smoke-free year has passed and she is now a member of the 80% CLUB :) (Do you know how blessed and confident and determined she is?)

Now this is the story of the lady sitting here at her computer and I am so lucky to be that lady. Sitting by my side is my husband who is celebrating his 9 month smoke-free milestone tomorrow!

The story above had so many very special characters. Donna, Pam, Anna, Lesly, Dee and Geoff were on board as the Mighty Marchers. Michelle, Tammy, Georgia, Linda, Sharon, Jilly, Bunchy, Ace, EB, Betty, Victoria, Maia, Virginia, Bryan, Rick, Perk, Lady Zolt, Gaylene, Sue, Irene and Larry were just some of the miracle makers included. Most important were Christine (hugzzzzzzzzzz) and Terry with which many stories here could not have been possible.

You all have a very special place in my heart. Thanks for helping to make my dream come true.

Love and Big Hugs, P.S...If you oldies don't mind, I would like to tell the new people and the people in the throws of this addiction that all you need to quit is to have the desire to do so. Come here and read and post often. The people here can help you do what you never ever thought possible of yourself. Relax and enjoy your stay. We love you more!
