Living Through Nicotine Withdrawal -- One Day at a Time

Break the Chains of Nicotine Addiction

My life as a smoker

I don't want to discuss my life as a smoker. That was 8 days ago!

Why and how I quit smoking

I will discuss the last straw that got me to quit smoking...I STINK!! My breath, my hair, my clothes, EVERYTHING! Not only is smoking a disgusting habit, but it is one that is killing me. I am now taking bupropion 150mg, twice a day. I will do everything in my power not to ever start again.

This is day 8 for me and the nicotine cravings were terrible this morning. I put on my workout clothes and walked for an hour. I'm back and feel much better now.

Advice

This is my new mantra:

Eyes, brighter
Teeth, whiter
Skin, smoother
Sleep, more soothing.
It will be the biggest sin,
If I ever start smoking again.
So everyone join me and say "NEVER, NEVER, NEVER"
In the fight against cigarettes, Not One Puff Ever!

Terry Martin, Smoking Cessation Guide, says:

Symptoms of nicotine withdrawal can and do include just about every irritation you can think of. While nicotine withdrawal is an intense stage of recovery that every ex-smoker must weather, there are measures that can be taken to minimize the discomforts. Remember - nicotine withdrawal is a temporary phase of recovery. It doesn't last long and better days....much better days lie ahead.

The fantastic feeling of freedom and control you'll get when you successfully beat this addiction is worth every bit of effort you give to quitting, and then some.

You are worth it.
