Definition:
Nicodemon is a term used to characterize the battle within ourselves over the addiction to nicotine. This term, while appealing to use as a way to describe the intensity of nicotine addiction, carries a subliminal message that the responsibility of choice lay outside ourselves:
"The nicodemon made me smoke a cigarette."

    or

"The nicodemon is lurking, trying to convince me to smoke."
Remember that our choices are always within our control, for better or worse, and how we deal with recovery from addiction is no different.
